Scotland prop Zander Fagerson has been dominated out of the British and Irish Lions’ tour to Australia with a calf harm and changed by Eire’s Finlay Bealham.
Fagerson’s membership, Glasgow Warriors, confirmed the information on X, including: “We’re all behind you, Z – we all know you may come again even stronger.”
The 29-year-old final featured for Glasgow in early April and was absent as they misplaced Saturday’s United Rugby Championship play-off semi-final to Leinster in Dublin.
Capped greater than 70 occasions by Scotland, the tighthead toured South Africa with the Lions in 2021 and featured towards Sigma Lions.
Australian-born Bealham, who qualifies for Eire via his grandmother, moved to Eire in 2010 and made his worldwide debut in 2016.
With Tadhg Furlong injured, the 33-year-old Connacht prop began each sport of Eire’s 2025 Six Nations marketing campaign, successful his fiftieth cap within the defeat by France within the penultimate spherical.
Andy Farrell’s Lions face Australia in Checks on 19 July, 26 July and a pair of August and can play seven different matches on tour.
Saracens hooker Jamie George, 34, and his fellow Englishman Asher Opoku-Fordjour, 20, of Sale Sharks, will journey to Portugal to coach with the squad.
George featured on the earlier two Lions excursions, selecting up three caps.
