Amine Gouiri, the Marseille attacker now representing Algeria, has shared his perspective on his nationwide staff allegiance.
Addressing the long-discussed swap from France, the place he was a youth worldwide, Gouiri acknowledged emphatically that he “by no means refused” to play for Algeria.
He revealed that Djamel Belmadi’s name in 2023 was met with speedy acceptance. Gouiri clarified the timeline, explaining that regardless of earlier hypothesis, the primary concrete contact from Belmadi was in September or October 2023, resulting in his becoming a member of the Algerian squad in November 2023.
