Daniel Wiffen put in a late surge to retain his 1500m freestyle title in an exhilarating remaining on the European Quick Course Championships in Poland.
Workforce Eire swimmer Wiffen, who gained Olympic gold within the 800m on the Paris Olympics, was second for almost all of the race behind Zalan Sarkany.
