The honour, introduced in Rabat, acknowledges their “visionary help” that raised East Africa’s profile. The central achievement cited by Dr. Motsepe was their joint internet hosting of a profitable 2024 CHAN beneath the Pamoja banner.
This collaboration, which set a benchmark for regional unity and improved infrastructure, was instrumental in securing the rights to collectively host the AFCON 2027.
